Maryland Home to Memory Tap

Memory Tap, a stakes winner of $315,658, has been retired to his owner James Cronk’s Linden Manor Farm in Warwick, Md. A 7-year-old son of champion Pleasant Tap out of stakes winner Remember the Day (by Settlement Day), Memory Tap is offered for $1,000 live foal, payable when the foal stands and nurses.

One of the very first horses owned by Cronk, Memory Tap was also his owner’s first stakes winner. Never off the board at 2, including a third-place finish in the Ambernash Stakes at Laurel, Memory Tap won the six-furlong Zwaanendael Stakes at Delaware Park by three and three-quarter lengths over Mr. Katowice at 3. He added a score in Pimlico’s Fire Plug Stakes the following year, also at six furlongs, while defeating graded stakes winner Dr. Max by three and a half-lengths.

Memory Tap won six of his 54 lifetime starts and placed second or third in 28 others, four times in stakes races.

His half-brother Remember Sheikh earned $227,278 and was a juvenile stakes winner who followed with a victory in the El Camino Real Derby-G3 at 3. Another half-brother is stakes-placed Remember the Party.

Their dam Remember the Day won the Azalea Handicap on the turf and is a half-sister to stakes winner If Memory Serves and stakes-placed Phantom Knight. Remember the Day produced seven foals through 2000—all are winners.
